Layout

1. Vowels are located on the top (number) row.

2. Consonants are below in sets of five Vargs (e.g.,
क ख ग घ ङ), with the Non-Varg row (य र ल…ह)
at the bottom on the right.

Three Easy Rules

1. Caps Lock Key अ/A switches between the standard
English keyboard and the Brahmi Hindi keyboard.

2. Matras (vowel diacritical marks) are invoked by
pressing the Shift key and the appropriate Vowel key.

Example:    क  +   Shift  +  इ =  कि

3. Consonants are joined with the Halant ्

Examples:  क  +   ्   +   ष  =  क्ष

                     श   +   ्   +   र  +  Shifted ई  =  श्री
